How to improve your Phone Finder find rate

Practical tips to find more mobile numbers from LinkedIn profile URLs.

Written by Thomas Lucy

To find more mobile numbers, give Enrow the URL of each person's own LinkedIn profile, ideally in its public form, such as linkedin.com/in/john-doe. The URL is the only thing the Phone Finder uses, so its quality makes the difference.

Use the right URL

  • Prefer the public profile URL, such as linkedin.com/in/john-doe. As the import screen says: "Best match rate with URLs like linkedin.com/in/williamgates."

  • Other profile URLs work too: URLs with a profile ID (linkedin.com/in/ACwAA…) and Sales Navigator URLs (linkedin.com/sales/lead/… or /sales/people/…), including in a file. To work with Sales Navigator lists, see How to enrich Sales Navigator URLs and exports.

  • Use a person's profile. A company page (linkedin.com/company/…), a search URL or a list URL can't give a phone number.

  • Send complete URLs, one per cell, with no extra text before or after.

Check your file before you start

  • Choose the right column. On the import screen, map the column of profile URLs to LinkedIn Profile URL. If the app says that some values don't look like valid LinkedIn URLs, check that column.

  • Keep Delete duplicate rows checked, so each profile is searched only once.

  • Test a small sample first when you use a new source of contacts.

Know what to expect

  • Enrow finds numbers in all countries. Your find rate depends on the people you target, so test a sample to know what to expect for your market.

  • "92% coverage" on our website comes from a benchmark run by a large customer. Your own rate can be different.

  • You get one number per person: a mobile or a direct line, never a switchboard.

  • No LinkedIn URL, no search. A name and a company are not enough to find a phone number.

Spend your credits wisely

  • A search without a result costs nothing. You only pay 40 credits when a number is found.

  • Need only one way to reach each person? In the Email Finder, the Phone fallback mode searches a phone number only for the people whose email was not found (see How to find emails and phone numbers in the same file).

  • Don't search the same person twice. Each search is done live, and you pay again if a number is found. Keep your results: searches are deleted after 3 months.
