You can send up to 10 requests per second with your API key on each POST endpoint. GET requests have no limit. A bulk request counts as one request and can hold up to 5,000 email searches or verifications, or 3,000 phone searches.
Rate limits
10 requests per second on each POST endpoint (Email Finder, Email Verifier and Phone Finder, single and bulk). Each endpoint has its own limit.
The limit applies to your API key. In a team, all members use the same key, so they share the limit.
No limit on GET endpoints (getting results) and on
GET /account/info. Webhooks don't count either.
If you go over the limit, the API returns the error 429 "Too Many Requests". Wait, then retry with longer and longer delays, for example 1, 2, then 4 seconds. The API doesn't tell you how long to wait.
Need a higher limit? Enrow can raise it for high-volume accounts on a custom plan. Write to [email protected] with your use case and your expected volume. See Custom plans for high volumes.
Batch sizes
Email Finder: up to 5,000 contacts per bulk request.
Email Verifier: up to 5,000 addresses per bulk request.
Phone Finder: up to 3,000 contacts per bulk request.
For a longer list, split it into several requests. Your balance must cover the whole batch when you send it.
How long searches take
These times are typical, not guaranteed:
Email search: most results come in 2 to 10 seconds, and 95% in less than 30 seconds.
Phone search: 99% of results come in less than 40 seconds, and at most in about 160 seconds.
Bulk search: the POST response includes
estimated_duration, an estimate in minutes.
If a batch stops moving forward, Enrow stops it almost immediately and refunds the credits it didn't use.
To know when a search is done, use a webhook rather than asking again and again. If you poll, wait a few seconds between two calls.
Tips for large volumes
Use bulk requests. One bulk request with 1,000 contacts counts as one request, not 1,000.
Use webhooks instead of polling. See Receive API results with webhooks.
Store your results. Searching for the same contact again costs credits again.
Check your balance with
GET /account/infobefore you start a large batch.
There is no cap on the number of searches, as long as you use Enrow normally. See Fair use policy.
