What to send: inputs for email and phone searches

The fields each API search needs: full name and company for emails, LinkedIn profile URL for phone numbers, the address for verifications.

Written by Thomas Lucy

To find an email, send the person's full name and their company's domain (or the company name). To find a phone number, send the person's LinkedIn profile URL. To verify an email, send the address.

Email Finder

  • fullname (required): the person's first and last name in one field, for example "Jane Doe". The API doesn't accept separate first_name and last_name fields. With only a first name, Enrow rarely finds the email.

  • company_domain or company_name (one of the two is required): the company the person works for today. The domain gives the best results. Several formats work, such as acme.com or https://www.acme.com.

  • settings.country_code (optional): a two-letter country code, such as GB or DE. The default is US. It is used only with company_name, to find the right company when several companies have the same name. It has no effect with a domain.

  • LinkedIn profile URL: the Email Finder endpoints can also find an email from the person's LinkedIn profile URL. See the Email Finder API reference for how to send it.

To get more results:

  • Send the domain whenever you have it.

  • Send the current employer, not a former one. Don't send domains such as linkedin.com or gmail.com: Enrow finds professional emails only.

  • Remove what isn't part of the name: titles (Dr., Mr.), degrees (MBA, PhD), emojis.

Phone Finder

  • linkedin_url (required): the person's LinkedIn profile URL. Classic profile URLs and Sales Navigator URLs both work. The public profile URL (linkedin.com/in/…) gives the best results. Company pages are not accepted.

If the URL isn't a LinkedIn profile URL, the API returns the error 400 "Invalid linkedin_url format".

Email Verifier

  • email (required): the address to verify.

Options for all searches

  • custom: your own data, such as an ID from your CRM. Enrow returns it as-is in the result and in the webhook.

  • settings.webhook: a URL where Enrow sends this result. It replaces your default webhook URL for this request.

The Email Finder has two more options:

  • settings.retrieve_gender: set it to true to get the person's gender.

  • settings.retrieve_company_info: set it to true to get more information about the company. It only works for French companies, with country_code set to FR.

Bulk searches

  • Put your contacts in a searches list. Each contact takes the same fields as a single search.

  • A bulk request can hold up to 5,000 contacts for the Email Finder and the Email Verifier, and up to 3,000 for the Phone Finder. For more, split your list into several requests.

  • Add custom to each contact to match the results. Each result also has an index: its position in your list.

  • The settings apply to the whole batch, for example one country_code and one webhook for all contacts.

  • Your balance must cover the whole batch when you send it.

All parameters, with examples, are in the API reference: Find Single Email, Find Single Phone and Verify Single Email.
