Get started with the Enrow API

What the API does, how a search works, your first call, and where to find the full documentation.

Written by Thomas Lucy

The Enrow API lets you find emails, verify emails and find phone numbers from your own code. Send your API key in the x-api-key header to https://api.enrow.io. The full reference is at docs.enrow.io.

What you can do with the API

  • Email Finder: find a person's professional email from their full name and their company.

  • Email Verifier: check whether an email address is valid.

  • Phone Finder: find a person's phone number from their LinkedIn profile URL.

Each feature works for one contact at a time (single) or for a list (bulk: up to 5,000 emails or 3,000 phone searches per request). You can also check your credit balance with GET /account/info.

Before you start

How a search works

Every search is asynchronous. It runs in three steps:

  1. You send a POST request with your search. The API answers right away with an id.

  2. Enrow runs the search in the background.

  3. You get the result in one of two ways:

    • By webhook (recommended): Enrow sends the result to your server as soon as it's ready. See Receive API results with webhooks.

    • By polling: you call the GET endpoint with the id until the result is ready.

Make your first call

This request looks for the email of Jane Doe at example.com. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key:

curl -X POST https://api.enrow.io/email/find/single \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"fullname": "Jane Doe", "company_domain": "example.com"}'

The response contains the id of the search. Use it to get the result:

curl "https://api.enrow.io/email/find/single?id=SEARCH_ID" \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"

The qualification field gives the result: valid means Enrow found the email and verified it, invalid means no email was found, and ongoing means the search is still running. See Read API results: statuses, polling and lost results.

Note: There is no sandbox. Each call runs a real search and uses real credits, but a search that finds nothing costs nothing.

Find the full documentation

On the API page of the app, click Documentation. It opens docs.enrow.io, with every endpoint, its parameters, examples in several languages, and the error codes.

The Documentation button on the API page

Writing your code with an AI assistant? Give it docs.enrow.io/llms-full.txt. This single file contains the whole API reference.

You can also use an official SDK for your language, or connect Enrow without code (see Enrow integrations: overview and who can connect them).
