Push verified contacts to Smartlead

Connect Smartlead with its API key and send contacts from your Enrow lists into your Smartlead campaigns.

Written by Thomas Lucy

Connect Smartlead with a Smartlead API key, then push contacts from your Enrow lists into a Smartlead campaign. Their emails are already verified by Enrow, catch-all addresses included, so you don't need Smartlead's own email verification.

Before you start

  • A Smartlead Pro plan or above. Smartlead gives API access from its Pro plan. If you don't see API keys in Smartlead's settings, contact Smartlead support.

  • A paid Enrow plan. On a team, only the team owner or an admin connects Smartlead. Every member can then push contacts.

  • Contacts in an Enrow list. You save contacts to your lists from LinkedIn with the Chrome extension. See How lists work. Only contacts with an email can be pushed.

Connect Smartlead

  1. In Smartlead, go to Settings > API Keys and generate a key. Copy it right away: Smartlead shows it only once.

  2. In Enrow, go to Integrations in the left menu.

  3. On the Smartlead card, click Connect.

  4. Paste the key in API key, then click Connect.

Enrow checks the key with Smartlead before saving it. If you see "Invalid API key", copy the full key again and paste it.

Set up the push

Pushing works with the default settings. To change them, click Configure on the Smartlead card:

  • Default destination: the campaign your pushes go to. It is preselected each time you push. Choose No default — ask every time to pick the campaign at each push.

  • Field mapping: by default, Email goes to email, First name to first_name, Last name to last_name, Company name to company_name, Phone to phone_number, Location to location and LinkedIn URL to linkedin_profile. Headline becomes a custom variable named headline. Custom variables are created on each lead automatically: write {{headline}} in your sequences. Variable names are case-sensitive.

  • Push options: they are all off by default, to protect your deliverability.

    • Allow duplicates across campaigns: add a contact even if they are already in another campaign.

    • Ignore global block list, Ignore unsubscribe list and Ignore community bounce list: add the contacts on these Smartlead lists anyway.

  • Auto-normalize data: cleans up names, emails, LinkedIn URLs and text before the push. Recommended.

Within one campaign, Smartlead always skips duplicates.

Push contacts

  1. Go to Lists in the left menu and open a list.

  2. To push one contact, click Push to Smartlead on the contact's row. To push several, select them and click Push to….

  3. In the Push contacts window, choose the campaign. A campaign that already has the contact shows Already pushed, with the date.

  4. Confirm the push.

Enrow then shows how many contacts were added, how many were duplicates and how many were skipped. Every push is listed in the History tab of the integration.

What it costs

Pushing contacts to Smartlead is free. You only spend credits when Enrow finds the data: 1 credit per email found and 40 credits per mobile number found (50 on legacy plans). Smartlead bills its own plan.

If a contact isn't pushed

  • The contact has no email. Contacts without an email are skipped.

  • The contact is already in another campaign, or on your Smartlead block list, unsubscribe list or community bounce list. These contacts are skipped by default: see the push options above.

  • Enrow says the key is invalid. The key was deleted in Smartlead, or your Smartlead plan is now below Pro. Create a new key in Smartlead and paste it in Integrations > Smartlead.
