Create a team

Create a team to share one pool of credits with your colleagues, each with their own login.

Written by Thomas Lucy

Go to Team in the left menu, click Create Team, give your team a name and confirm. You become the team's Owner, and all your credits move to a shared pool that your members use for their searches.

Why create a team

  • Each person has their own login. Sharing one account between several people is not allowed.

  • Everyone uses the same credits. There is no fee per member.

  • You keep control. You can set a monthly quota for each member, give roles, choose who sees whose searches, and decide who can use the API.

  • Billing stays with you. Only the team owner manages billing.

Which plans include a team

You need a paid plan to invite members:

  • Start: up to 2 team members, the owner included. You can invite 1 person.

  • Pro: up to 10 team members, the owner included. You can invite 9 people.

  • Scale and Custom plans, and one-time payment credits: unlimited team members.

On the Free plan, you can't invite members. See Choose a plan.

Create the team

  1. Go to Team in the left menu.

  2. In Create your team, click Create Team.

  3. In Team name, type the name of your team, then click Next.

  4. Read the message about your credits, then click I understand, create the team.

The message "Team created!" confirms it and shows how many credits moved to the team.

What happens to your credits

  • All your current credits, from your subscription and pay-as-you-go, move to the team pool. Your personal balance becomes 0.

  • Your next subscription renewals also add their credits to the team pool.

  • If you delete the team later, its remaining credits come back to your personal account.

Next steps

  • Invite your colleagues. See Invite members and manage roles.

  • Set quotas, API access and search visibility. See Control team usage.

  • Keep your Team ID at hand. It is shown in your team settings. Give it to support when you have a question about your team: they can help you faster.

Tip: Before you create a team, click See how it works on the Team page for a short demo with sample data. Learn more about team features shows what each role can do.

A team may already exist for your company's email domain. In that case, the Team page shows an Ask to join button: ask to join that team instead of creating a second one. See Join, leave or delete a team.
