Control team usage: quotas, API access and search visibility

Set a monthly credit quota for each member, choose who can use the API, and decide who sees whose searches.

Written by Thomas Lucy

On the Team page, the owner and admins can cap the credits each member spends every month, turn API access on or off for each member, and choose whether members see each other's searches.

Monthly quotas

A quota limits the credits a member can spend in a month. All credits still come from the team's shared pool.

  • Default monthly quota for new members: it applies to everyone who joins the team. You can set a different quota on a single invitation with Customize, or change it later.

  • Monthly quota of a member: change it with the buttons that add or remove 100 credits, or click Set unlimited or Set a limit. ∞ means no limit. 0 blocks all searches for this member.

  • Reset: quotas start again on the 1st of every month, at midnight UTC.

  • The owner has no quota.

What members see

On the Team page, each member sees My Team Dashboard: their role, their monthly quota, the credits used this month, the credits left and their API access. To change their quota or permissions, they contact an admin.

When a member can't search anymore, the app tells them why:

  • Monthly quota reached: an admin can raise the quota, or the member waits for the next reset.

  • Team credits exhausted: the team pool is empty. The owner must add credits. See What happens when you run out of credits.

API access for each member

The team shares one API key. Only the owner and admins can see it.

  • For each member, API access shows Granted or Disabled. Change it with Enable API access or Disable API access. A member with access can open the API page, with the team's API key and webhook settings. A member without access sees "API access not enabled".

  • Turning off a member's access doesn't cancel a key they already copied. To fully remove their access, the owner resets the key on the API page. All the tools that use the old key then need the new one. See Find, copy or reset your API key.

Search visibility

  • Private (default): each member sees only their own searches.

  • Shared: all members see each other's searches.

The owner and admins always see all searches, whatever this setting.

Team analytics

The owner and admins can see the team's usage member by member on the Analytics page. Members can't see team analytics. See Check your credit balance and usage.
