What you need to find an email or a phone number

The information Enrow needs for each tool, and what it can't search from.

Written by Thomas Lucy

To find an email, Enrow needs the person's full name and their company's domain or name, or the URL of their LinkedIn profile. To find a mobile number, it needs the URL of the person's LinkedIn profile. To verify an email, it only needs the address.

What each tool needs

Email Finder

  • The person's full name: first name and last name. With only one word, Enrow rarely finds the email.

  • Their company: the domain of the company they work for today (for example, acme.com) or the company name. The domain gives better results: "+30% finding rate with a domain."

Instead of the name and company, you can also give the URL of the person's LinkedIn profile. This works in the Email Finder search bar, in a file with a LinkedIn column and through the API. On LinkedIn, the Chrome extension finds the email straight from the profile you open.

Phone Finder

  • The URL of the person's LinkedIn profile, for example linkedin.com/in/john-doe. Sales Navigator profile URLs work too.

A name and a company are not enough to find a phone number.

Email Verifier

  • The email address you want to check.

What is not enough

Enrow looks for the email or the number of one specific person. It can't search from:

  • A domain or a company name alone. Enrow can't list all the emails of a company or find "the CEO of acme.com". You need the name of each person.

  • A company registration number or a VAT number.

  • A LinkedIn company page (linkedin.com/company/…). Use the profile of each person.

  • A job title or an industry. Enrow doesn't search for people by role, sector or location.

Enrow finds people's professional emails. It doesn't look for generic addresses such as contact@ or info@, and it doesn't find personal addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo. Phone numbers are mobiles or direct lines, and a mobile can be personal (see Does Enrow provide personal emails or phone numbers?).

Some domains are not searched on purpose, such as certain government bodies.

Don't have names yet?

Enrow is not a database of prospects: it finds and verifies contact details, live, for the people you give it. Build your list of people first, for example with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or your CRM, then enrich it with Enrow. Learn more in What Enrow does (and doesn't do).
